Our Services
We offer a wide range of services, including stonemasonry, lime mortar pointing, stone cleaning (DOFF), carving, structural alterations and repairs, and roofing and lead work. Our team of fully qualified stonemasons have attended Scottish Lime Centre courses, which means that lime mortar repairs and pointing are an area of specialism. We work with private clients, insurance contractors, building contractors, public sector contractors, architects, and conservation organisations throughout Edinburgh and the Lothians.
About Our Team
Our owner, Gavin McGrotty, is a time-served stonemason with over 20 years of industry expertise. He launched Architectural Conservation in 2014 and has since built a growing reputation for delivering quality workmanship combined with a high level of customer service and satisfaction. Gavin is passionate about stone and the industry, and uses traditional techniques and the right materials, such as lime mortar, to ensure that all stone masonry works carried out by the firm gives buildings the longevity they deserve.
Gavin heads up a team of fully qualified stonemasons who regularly attend CPD Events and Lime and Conservation Courses at the Scottish Lime Centre to develop their knowledge and skillset. The team make the most of their skills and prepare stone on and off site at Architectural Conservation's stone yard with a real attention to detail.
