Welcome to Badger's Den Holiday Cottage, a beautiful and historic cottage nestled in the picturesque village of Knowle, South East Devon. Our charming cottage is located on the edge of the quiet and unspoilt village, just a stone's throw away from the charming coastal town of Budleigh Salterton. With its own pretty garden and a secluded position in an area of outstanding natural beauty, Badger's Den is the perfect destination for those seeking a relaxing and tranquil holiday.

The cottage is owned by Leo and Mandy Dickinson, who live in the adjacent 'Fudge Cottage', famous for making the local Devon clotted cream fudge in the 1950s. With their warm and welcoming personalities, they are always available to provide guidance and recommendations for local activities and attractions.

The Cottage

Badger's Den is a spacious and well-furnished cottage, equipped with all the modern conveniences. It can be hired as a two-bedroom cottage or three-bedroom with an extra en-suite, accommodating up to six people plus a baby in the cot. We are pleased to accept pets for a small charge, making our cottage an ideal destination for families with furry friends.

Our area has something to offer everyone, from local beaches and walking the Jurassic coastline to birdwatching on the Exe and Otter Estuary Nature reserve. There are also a number of excellent golf courses, a riding stables, Bicton Gardens with its miniature railway, and Crealy Adventure Park. The cottage makes an ideal base for visiting further afield, with Dartmoor just an hour's drive away, Exeter has its Cathedral, designer shops, and bistros, and many National Trust and similar properties nearby. The Eden Project or the Gardens of Heligan in Cornwall can be visited on a day trip.

Amenities

We provide a welcome Devon cream tea on arrival for all week-long bookings and have created a local information guide with ideas and information on local activities, walks, and restaurants. Our cottage is a non-smoking establishment with off-road parking available for up to two cars.

Location

Our cottage's prime location offers easy access to Devon's beaches, Exmouth, and Woodbury Common. The nearby Budleigh to Exmouth cycle path and the Jurassic Coast Path are perfect for scenic walks and bike rides. Our cottage has a pub within walking distance and the beach is only a short drive away.
