Godley Stud Farm

Godley Stud Riding School extends a very warm welcome to riders of all ages and abilities. Established since 1995, our five-star rated school is a family-run business located on the outskirts of Hyde, Tameside, in the beautiful setting of Green Lane. We take great pride in being a smaller establishment, where every client is assured of a warm and personalised welcome. Our dedicated team of professionals, all of whom are first-aid trained, hold child safeguarding certificates and have various levels of teaching qualifications, ensure that our clients receive the highest standard of instruction in a relaxed and friendly atmosphere.

Our Horses and Ponies

At Godley Stud Riding School, we have a family of 18 horses and ponies of all sizes, ranging from small ponies to larger cobs. We take great care in selecting our horses and ponies, ensuring that they are healthy, well-cared for, and suit a range of different abilities in a rider. Our horses and ponies are part of our family, and we ensure that they are well-loved, well-worked with, and well-retired when they are no longer able to work. Most of our horses and ponies stay with us for life, and we are committed to providing them with the best possible care.

Riding Lessons

We offer a range of riding lessons, tailored to the individual, whether it be a group, private, or jumping lesson. Our qualified and experienced instructors work closely with each rider to ensure that they receive the best possible instruction, based on their height, weight, and ability. We are happy to discuss any individual needs, whether it be teaching little ones the basics, through to experienced riders wanting some instruction on a particular riding aspect. We also welcome those going back to riding or those who need a bit of help with their confidence.

Hacking Trails

Based on the foothills of the Pennines, right on the edge of the Peak District National Park, Godley Stud Riding School is blessed with some of the most beautiful hacking trails in the area. We offer a range of hacking trails to suit all abilities, from a half-hour lead rein walk to up to four-hour hacks for experienced riders. Our horses and ponies are well-trained, and we take great care in ensuring that every rider is safe and secure while enjoying the beautiful scenery. We also run various courses and events for younger riders during school holidays, allowing them to have fun and work on their skills.

Livery

At Godley Stud Riding School, we offer a range of livery options to suit every need. Our livery packages are tailored to the individual, and we work closely with every owner to ensure that their horse or pony receives the best possible care. Our livery options include full livery, part livery, and DIY livery, and we provide a range of services, including feeding, mucking out, and turnout.
