Your Trusted Primary School in Tredegar
Georgetown C P School was established in May 1989 to serve the educational needs of the Georgetown community in Tredegar. Replacing an older facility dating back to 1877, our purpose-built two-storey campus provides modern learning environments including seven classrooms, a computer suite, dedicated after-school facilities, and a multi-purpose hall. We expanded in 2003 to accommodate growing demand, adding a Key Stage 2 block and nursery provision. Our school caters to children aged 3-11, offering structured education through 14 classes divided between Foundation Phase and Key Stage 2. Our leadership team, comprising experienced educators Miss Lisa Thomas and Mrs Hannah Trinder, focuses on creating a safe, nurturing environment where academic excellence combines with character development. We prioritise community partnerships through our Home School Agreement, recognising parental involvement as essential to student success. Our curriculum framework promotes lifelong learning while developing ethical citizens, healthy individuals, and creative contributors to Welsh society. We maintain transparent operations through published policies, development plans, and regular ESTYN inspections, ensuring accountability to parents and educational authorities.
