Burrell Theatre

Burrell Theatre stands as Truro's hidden gem in the heart of Cornwall, offering a vibrant hub for theatre, dance, live music, and film. Officially opened by Sir Tim Rice in 2002, our venue has earned a special commendation from the Cornwall Buildings Group for its architectural significance. With adaptable seating for 180 or standing capacity for 350, we cater to diverse events ranging from educational children's theatre to historical adventures and queer comedy. Our dedicated team and experienced theatre practitioners ensure top-tier front-of-house and backstage facilities, complemented by full disabled access. We foster local talent through our resident Bodkin Theatre Company and deliver workshops in acting, stage combat, and production skills.

The theatre's association with Truro School Cookery enhances our pre-theatre dining experiences, serving locally sourced snacks and beverages. Located on the historic Truro School site, we combine a majestic setting with state-of-the-art equipment, making us a preferred venue for both intimate and large-scale events. Our commitment to accessibility and community engagement has solidified our reputation as one of Cornwall's favourite multi-purpose venues. Whether hosting performances or corporate events, we prioritise flexibility and excellence to meet our clients' needs. From seamless ticketing to tailored accessibility support, Burrell Theatre remains a cornerstone of Cornwall's cultural landscape.
