Discover the joy of reading in our friendly and welcoming bookshop

Dartmouth Community Bookshop, located at 9a Foss Street, Dartmouth TQ6 9DW, is a not-for-profit community co-operative that offers a diverse selection of new books for both adults and children. Established in 2011, following the closure of the renowned Harbour Bookshop, the bookshop aims to fill the void left by the famous bookstore and provide a community hub for booklovers in the area.

Our dedicated team of experienced professionals, led by our professional manager, Andrea Saunders, is committed to promoting literacy, reading, and book culture in Dartmouth. Our knowledgeable staff is always available to help you select the perfect book and offer recommendations based on your preferences.

Our Selection

Our book collection includes a wide range of genres and subjects, such as fiction, nautical, biography, history and military, travel, local history, guides and maps, and more. We have an extensive selection of children's books, suitable for tots to teens, and are proud to keep alive the connection with Christopher Robin Milne, the founder of the Harbour Bookshop. Our Pooh Corner is a special tribute to Winnie-the-Pooh, featuring many new books and collector's items.

In addition to our book collection, we also stock a variety of popular greeting cards, local postcards, and sell and redeem National Book Tokens. Our selection is constantly updated to ensure that we offer the latest releases and popular titles.

Ordering and Delivery

We accept orders in person at the shop, by phone, or via email. We strive to deliver orders within 24-48 hours, and can arrange for postal delivery to any location in the country. Alternatively, customers can order books from our online site on bookshop.org and have them delivered directly to their home.
