Compton House is a family-run guest house situated in the charming historic market town of Ashbourne, with the magnificent St. Oswald's Church dating from the 14th century, and its fine Georgian architecture. We pride ourselves on providing good food and accommodation with a warm and friendly atmosphere. Our breakfast is sourced locally whenever possible, and we serve homemade jam and marmalade. Our home was originally three terraced cottages, which have been converted into one rather individual house, and has been our home since 1986.
Our Services
We offer a range of services to make your stay with us as comfortable and enjoyable as possible. Our five bedrooms are all en-suite, with colour televisions, radio, and hairdryer, plus a well-stocked tea and coffee tray. Three of our rooms have double beds, and two of these can also accommodate a single bed, making them ideal for families. One of our double rooms is located on the ground floor, overlooking the garden, and we also have a king-size bed room with a full-size bathroom.
Our breakfast is served in our dining room, overlooking the garden, and features locally sourced produce, as well as our homemade jam and marmalade. We also have a small sitting room where guests can relax and watch TV.

We are just a few minutes' walk from the Tissington Trail, an old disused railway line perfect for walking and cycling. We also have secure storage for your cycles. Whether you want to drive, ride, walk, climb, cycle, or sail, all are on offer in our beautiful Peak District Countryside.
