Who We Are

At Slater Jones Bookkeeping, we are a family partnership based in Tamworth, Staffordshire, with a team of friendly, professional, and qualified bookkeepers. We take pride in supporting start-ups, sole traders, partnerships, non-profit organisations, and individuals with their bookkeeping, accounts, and tax requirements so they can focus on what they do best - running their business and living their life.

Our Story

Our founder, Allison Slater, has over 25 years of experience in financial services, working for one of the major banks at branch and head office level. In 2014, she decided to pursue a career change and started studying with the Institute of Certified Bookkeepers (ICB), completing the necessary courses and examinations with distinction to become an ICB Member qualified at Level III in Bookkeeping and Accounts and Level III Diploma in Self Assessment Tax Returns. She set up a bookkeeping business that would allow her to work with clients on an individual basis. In 2016, her sister, Victoria Jones, joined her, and they converted the business into a family partnership.

Our Services

At Slater Jones Bookkeeping, we offer a variety of bookkeeping and accounting services for individuals and businesses, including:

• Bookkeeping for Businesses/Organisations: From 15.00 per hour, our services include setting up a computerised bookkeeping system, entering purchase and sales invoices, preparing bank reconciliations, and producing creditor and debtor reports.
• VAT Returns: From 50.00 per quarter, our services include applying for VAT registration, preparing and filing VAT returns with HMRC.
• Sole Trader / CIS / Partnership Annual Accounts and Tax Returns: Please contact us for a personalised quote.
• Bookkeeping for Individuals: From 15.00 per hour, our services include preparing income and expenditure reports for tax calculations and submitting tax returns to HMRC.

Cloud Accounting

The digital age has transformed accounting. Cloud accounting has now replaced spreadsheets and paper ledgers for many, and this trend is set to continue as HMRC continues to roll out its Making Tax Digital (MTD) programme. Cloud accounting software allows you access to your data anytime, anywhere, providing you have an internet-connected device and your login details. You can give access to different individuals and choose their level of access. This includes people working off-site, in different offices, and your bookkeeper and accountant. Is it secure?
