Your Trusted Walking Football Club in Newport
Established in 2019, Tayport FC Over 50s Walking Football Club was founded by Paul Berg to promote active lifestyles for older adults. Under the leadership of chairman Davie Baikie, we transitioned training to Canniepairt and became part of Tayport FC, offering structured weekly sessions. Our non-contact, walking-based format accommodates all fitness levels while prioritising safety and inclusivity. Players benefit from physical exercise that improves cardiovascular health, mobility and weight management, alongside social interaction through post-training refreshments and discussions.

We compete in the Walking Football Over 50s East League with two teams across divisions, facing clubs like Dundee Utd and Hearts in 6-a-side matches. Our Friday morning sessions alternate between outdoor training at Tayport FC and indoor facilities in Dundee, with plans to introduce evening sessions. The club actively fosters community connections, welcoming both active participants and social members who enjoy our inclusive environment. All activities adhere to strict rules including no running, non-contact play and ball height restrictions to ensure accessibility and safety.
