Your Trusted Local Veterinary Practice in Caithness & Sutherland
Established in 1965, DS McGregor & Partners Vets has been a cornerstone of veterinary care in Caithness and Sutherland for over six decades. Our practice was founded by Donald McGregor, who built a legacy of compassionate animal care rooted in the local community. In 2023, we transitioned to an employee-owned model, ensuring our team retains control over decisions that impact patient welfare and service quality. This structure allows us to prioritise animal health and client needs without corporate interference. We provide comprehensive veterinary services for pets, farm animals, and equine clients, supported by our 24/7 emergency care availability. Our Highland Health Plan, launched in 2024, offers innovative preventative care solutions, including free consultations for unlimited members. As the first UK veterinary practice to become employee-owned, we maintain independence while embracing modern advancements in veterinary medicine. Our team includes experienced professionals with decades of combined expertise, many of whom have deep generational ties to the region. We operate from our Thurso and Wick branches, offering ambulatory services across the Highlands. Recognised for our community commitment, we were honoured to host His Majesty King Charles III during his visit to our Thurso facility in 2021. Through all our developments, we remain steadfast in our original mission: delivering exceptional veterinary care with unwavering dedication to animal welfare and client support.
