Cregagh Cricket Club has been an integral part of East Belfast's sporting community since its formation in 1906. Established initially through the efforts of Mr. J. W. A. Hamilton, our club was founded on principles of community engagement and youth development. As a member of the Northern Cricket Union since 1920, we currently maintain five adult and five youth teams competing during the traditional cricket season. Our historic Cregagh Memorial Recreation Grounds serve as both a sporting venue and a living memorial to those who served in the World Wars. With a rich heritage including Senior League Championships in 1945 and 1947, we continue to welcome new members of all ages to participate in cricket as players, coaches, or supporters.Our youth development programs, operating since the 1920s, remain central to our mission of nurturing future generations of cricketers. The 2019 clubhouse refurbishment demonstrates our ongoing commitment to maintaining modern facilities while preserving our century-old traditions. Through periods of challenge and triumph, including our remarkable survival during the 1980s crisis, we have maintained an unbroken connection to our local community.
