Empowering learners, inspiring futures
We are proud to say that all of our pupils are "I can" children. Our federation comprises three schools: Snowsfields, Tower Bridge, and Robert Browning. At each of these schools, our pupils are happy, polite, well-behaved, and love their school. Every child is seen as an individual, and they are encouraged to take risks, be challenged, and be the best they can be.
Our Vision and Values
At The Bridges Federation, we believe that every child has the potential to succeed and grow. Our aim is to provide an education that is not only challenging but also enjoyable and engaging. We want our pupils to develop the skills, knowledge, and experiences they need to be successful members of their communities, now and in the future. We believe every child is good at something and can improve at everything. Our vision is simple: every child should leave primary school being able to read, write, and use a range of mathematical strategies to the highest standard.
Our Schools
The Bridge Federation is made up of three schools: Snowsfields, Tower Bridge, and Robert Browning. Each school has its own identity and feel, but we all share the same commitment to providing a high-quality education for all our children. Snowsfields is situated close to The Shard and bustling Bermondsey Street; Tower Bridge is near the Thames and the Tower of London; and Robert Browning is next to the historic East Street Market area. We are extremely lucky to be based in central London, surrounded by the city's iconic landmarks and attractions.
What We Offer
At The Bridges Federation, we offer a range of exciting and creative opportunities for our pupils to learn and thrive. We provide a healthy, safe, and friendly environment where pupils can contribute, take risks, learn, and achieve their full potential. We encourage our pupils to be life-long learners, respectful, well-rounded, able to achieve, aspirational, positive, polite, kind, enthusiastic, and happy.
We offer an inclusive approach to learning, where pupils are seen as individuals and have their individual needs met. We provide opportunities for pupils to develop, nurture, and celebrate their individual talents and abilities. Our curriculum is based on children's interests and develops creativity through the arts and Philosophy for Children. We also offer regular opportunities for pupils to learn outside the classroom through curriculum visits and Garden School, and to take part in a variety of community activities in and out of school hours.
Our Expertise
Our schools are equipped with excellent ICT provision, including the use of a wide range of computers and technology to support and enhance learning. We also have a strong pupil voice, where children are encouraged to be active participants in the life of the school and to suggest ways we can improve. We offer a range of leadership opportunities, including STEM Leaders, Sports Leaders, and Creative Arts Leaders.
Our Achievements
We are proud of our achievements, including our executive headteacher, Kate Wooder, who has been awarded an MBE in the King's Birthday Honours 2023 for services to education. Kate has worked in Southwark since 1992 and has been a headteacher since 2007, starting at Snowsfields and then growing our federation of schools.
Conclusion
At The Bridges Federation, we are committed to providing an education that is engaging, challenging, and enjoyable for all our pupils. We believe that every child has the potential to succeed and grow, and we are dedicated to helping them reach their full potential. We are proud of our schools, our pupils, and our achievements, and we look forward to continuing to work together to achieve even greater things in the future.
