Working together to inspire your world

At Kids Planet, we are a family-owned and award-winning group of 191 nurseries across the UK. Our journey began in 2008 when our CEO, Clare Roberts, struggled to find childcare that catered to her flexible work schedule as a new mum. This led her to partner with her father, who had previously owned another nursery group, to establish Kids Planet. Over the years, we have expanded to over 180 nurseries across the UK, with a team of over 25,000 children in our care.

Our Philosophy and Vision

At Kids Planet, we believe that a nursery can only be as good as the team who run it. We pride ourselves on having some of the best and most qualified people in the industry. Our commitment to providing excellence is reflected in our in-house Training Academy, which ensures that our staff are always learning and developing their skills. We are dedicated to putting teaching and learning at the heart of everything we do, and we are fully committed to ensuring that each child is given the best opportunities during their time with us.

Our Services

At Kids Planet, we offer a range of services that cater to the needs of young children and their parents. Our nurseries provide safe and secure environments with dedicated, fully trained staff. We offer nutritious meals, prepared by our qualified chefs, and a happy and engaging environment for children to learn and grow. Our ParentZone app keeps parents informed and engaged with their child's day-to-day activities and achievements.

Nutrition and Health

We believe in a healthy approach to nutrition and offer balanced and varied menus across all our nurseries. Our chefs are qualified and experienced in menu planning, food hygiene, and nutrition. We provide regular nutritional assessments to ensure that our menus cater to the needs of children with dietary requirements.

Safety and Security

At Kids Planet, we take the safety and security of our children very seriously. We go above and beyond OFSTED requirements to ensure that our nurseries are safe and secure environments. We have installed CCTV cameras in the majority of our nurseries, and entry to each setting is by a secure front door, answered by a member of staff or via an intercom or fingerprint entry system.

Community Involvement

At Kids Planet, we believe in being an active member of our local communities. We engage with local events, support charities, and participate in fundraising initiatives. We believe that being a responsible corporate citizen is essential to our values and commitment to our children and their families.

Training Academy

Our in-house Training Academy is designed to support the continuous professional development of our staff. We believe that our staff are our greatest asset, and we invest in their development to ensure that they are always learning and improving.

Awards and Accolades

We are proud to have received numerous awards and accolades for our nurseries, including Outstanding provision in our early years inspections by OFSTED.

Conclusion

At Kids Planet, we are dedicated to providing the best possible experience for children, parents, and staff alike. We believe in a philosophy that is focused on providing a nurturing and engaging environment for children to learn and grow. Positive: The nursery has supportive staff and a down-to-earth approach.
Negative: The nursery has an unprofessional approach to handling allegations and has involved the police and social services unnecessarily.

Overall Experience

There is a stark contrast in the opinions of the two reviewers. One parent, Hatti A., had a highly positive experience with the nursery, praising the supportive staff and the nursery's down-to-earth approach to caring for children.

Positive Comments

In stark contrast, Kerry Bailey had a thoroughly negative experience with the nursery, expressing concerns about the staff's behavior and the nursery's handling of allegations. The negative comments largely revolve around the staff's actions, which Bailey felt were unprofessional and unjust.

Key Concerns

Kerry Bailey's review highlights several areas of concern, including:

  • A perception that the staff are untrustworthy and prone to making false accusations
  • A perceived lack of support for parents when their child makes an allegation against a staff member
  • The presence of a form requiring permission for children to be transported in an emergency vehicle with a staff member
  • A sense that the nursery is not equipped to handle allegations properly, leading to unnecessary involvement by the police and social services

Conclusion

It is clear that the two reviewers have had vastly different experiences with the nursery, with one praising the staff and facilities and the other expressing deep concerns about the nursery's handling of allegations and staff behavior.
