Empowering Children to Reach their Full Potential
Welcome to Caldecote Day Nursery, where we are passionate about providing high-quality childcare and early education. We are proud to have been serving our community in Rugby, Warwickshire since 1995. Our nursery was founded by Mariana Dixon, a qualified Nursery Nurse with over 30 years of experience in childcare. Mariana's vision was to create a nurturing and stimulating environment where children can learn and grow. Today, we are delighted to accommodate up to 49 children aged 6 weeks to 5 years.
Our Location
Situated just a stone's throw away from Rugby town centre and right next door to Caldicott Park, our location offers the perfect setting for children to learn and explore. We make full use of our local amenities to enrich the Early Years curriculum and provide a well-rounded educational experience.
Our Approach
At Caldecote Day Nursery, we believe that each child is unique, and we value their individual strengths, interests, and learning styles. Our approach to early education is grounded in the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) principles, which emphasize the importance of play-based learning, child-led activities, and a supportive and nurturing environment.
We strive to create a warm and welcoming atmosphere where children feel safe, happy, and motivated to learn. We work closely with parents and carers to build strong relationships and ensure continuity of care. Our open-door policy encourages open communication, and our dedicated team of early years educators is always available to discuss your child's progress and development.
Our Curriculum
Our curriculum is designed to provide a broad and balanced learning experience that supports children's holistic development. We offer a wide range of activities and experiences that promote cognitive, physical, social, and emotional growth. Our curriculum covers seven key areas of learning, including:
- Personal, Social, and Emotional Development
- Communication and Language
- Physical Development
- Literacy
- Mathematics
- Understanding the World
- Expressive Arts and Design
Our team of experienced and qualified early years educators plan and deliver activities that are tailored to children's individual needs, interests, and abilities. We use a range of teaching strategies, including play-based learning, child-led activities, small group work, and whole-group activities, to engage and motivate children.
Our Facilities
We are proud to offer state-of-the-art facilities that provide a safe, stimulating, and nurturing environment for children. Our nursery is split into three age-appropriate rooms, each designed to cater to the specific needs and interests of our children:
- The Baby Room: This room caters for our youngest children, from 6 weeks to approximately 18 months. Our focus is on building strong relationships with parents and carers, providing a home-from-home environment and supporting children's physical, emotional, and social development.
- The Toddler Room: This room caters for children aged approximately 18 months to 2.5 years. Our focus is on developing communication and language skills, building confidence, and encouraging independence.
- The Pre-School Room: This room caters for children aged approximately 2.5 to 5 years. Our focus is on preparing children for school, building on their existing knowledge, skills, and understanding, and encouraging independent learning.
Our outdoor space is a vital part of our curriculum, providing opportunities for children to learn and explore in a natural setting. We offer a range of outdoor activities and experiences, including messy play, gardening, bikes, scooters, and climbing equipment.
