Maddox Down Farm is a picturesque holiday destination nestled in the heart of North Devon, offering the perfect playground for families, walkers, fishermen, cyclists, foodies, and friends to come together and create unforgettable memories. Our farm has a rich history dating back to the 1500s, and our traditional stone barns have been lovingly converted into cosy cottages that exude warmth and character.
Our Cottages
We have six delightful cottages that cater to groups of varying sizes, sleeping from 2 to 7 people. Each cottage has its own unique character, and some feature log burners to keep you warm and cosy on those chilly evenings. Our cottages are equipped with all the modern amenities you need, ensuring a comfortable and relaxing stay.
On-Site Facilities
We are proud to offer a range of on-site facilities to ensure our guests have a wonderful time. Our indoor heated swimming pool is perfect for a refreshing dip or some family fun, while our games room features a pool table, table tennis, table football, and a smaller area for younger children. Just outside, you'll find swings and seating areas where you can take in the breathtaking views of the surrounding countryside. For nature lovers, our wildlife pond is a must-visit, where you can sit and picnic while watching the fish and birds.
Local Amenities
We understand that sometimes you may need to pick up a few essentials or satisfy your cravings for local cuisine. Our farm is conveniently located near a small local shop that sells the basics, and just a mile down the road, you'll find our local pub, The Pyne Arms, serving delicious food and ales. For those who prefer to cook up a storm, we can help you pre-order your shopping from Tesco, Asda, and Sainsbury's, which will deliver directly to your cottage.
Arrival and Departure
We kindly request that our guests arrive by 4 pm and depart by 10 am to ensure a smooth transition for our cleaning and maintenance team. When you arrive, you'll be greeted with a complimentary Devonshire cream tea and condiments, which will be waiting in your cottage for you.
