Unlocking Every Child's Potential
At Leeds Montessori, we believe that every child is unique and has their own special talents and abilities. Our mission is to provide a nurturing and stimulating environment that allows children to grow and develop at their own pace. We are proud to have been providing high-quality childcare in Leeds for over 25 years.
Our Approach
Our approach to childcare is based on the principles of Montessori education, which emphasizes independence, self-motivation, and hands-on learning. Our experienced and qualified staff work closely with each child to understand their individual needs and abilities, and tailor their learning experience to meet those needs.
Our Facilities
Our nursery is set in a beautiful Grade II listed Victorian building in the heart of Roundhay, Leeds. We have a large outdoor play area, complete with a climbing frame, water stream, and planting area. We also have a secret garden and a forest school area where children can explore and learn about nature.
Montessori Learning
Montessori learning is at the heart of everything we do. Our specially designed classrooms are equipped with a wide range of Montessori materials and resources, and our experienced teachers work closely with each child to help them develop their skills and knowledge. From sensory play to musical instrument workshops, we offer a wide range of activities and experiences that cater to each child's individual needs and interests.
Nutrition and Health
We believe that nutrition and health are essential parts of a child's development, and we take great care to ensure that every child in our care receives a healthy and nutritious diet. Our lead chef prepares delicious and balanced meals using fresh, locally sourced ingredients. We also have a strict policy on allergies and special dietary needs, and work closely with parents to ensure that every child's individual needs are met.
Admissions and Fees
We welcome children from 9 months to 4 years old, and offer full-time and part-time places. Our fees are competitive and all-inclusive, and we offer discounts for siblings and regular payment plans. Our admissions process is straightforward and easy to follow, and we encourage parents to book a showround to get a better understanding of our nursery and what we can offer.

Nursery Experience
Some parents have had negative experiences with this nursery, including being treated rudely by staff and encountering classism. One reviewer, Miss Maynard, spoke to a member of staff about a place for her son, but was met with resistance when she mentioned that the funding would be 15 hours. She felt that the staff was elitist and class-conscious, which made her glad that they didn't accept her son.
Positive Feedback
On the other hand, one reviewer, Michael Douglas, had a very positive experience with the nursery. He praised the focus on education, structure, and play, and noted that the environment was fun and engaging. He said that all the staff were fantastic practitioners and that his daughter was thriving.
Negative Feedback
The negative feedback from Buhle P.-Ndlovu and Miss Maynard highlights concerns about the treatment of certain groups of people, particularly those from lower-income backgrounds. They felt that the staff was unwelcoming and refused to discuss funded placements or add them to the waiting list.
