Simpson's Boatyard is a family-run business located in Stalham, Norfolk, at the head of the River Ant. For over 75 years, we have been providing unforgettable holidays and exceptional marine services to our customers. Our mission is to create lifelong memories for our guests and to maintain a special piece of Norfolk Broads history.

Our Services

We offer a wide range of services to cater to your holiday needs. Our luxury holiday cottages, Riverside Cottage, Teasel Cottage, and Solace Lodge, provide comfortable and tranquil accommodations for up to 12 guests. Each cottage is meticulously maintained and equipped with modern amenities to ensure a relaxing stay.

If you prefer to be on the water, our 5 houseboats, moored off the main river, provide the perfect getaway. We also offer day and picnic boat hire, so you can explore the River Ant and beyond. Our on-site facilities include a small shop, reception, and restaurant, as well as camping sites and paddleboard and canoe hire.

Our History

The boatyard has been owned by the Simpson family since taking over Southgate's in 1945. In recent years, it has been Stalham Yacht Services and Moonfleet Marine. Today, Simpson's Boatyard Ltd is proud to maintain a special piece of Norfolk Broads history and strives to provide memorable holidays and exemplary marine services for generations to come.

About Our Cottages

Our cottages are designed to provide the ultimate retreat for families and groups of friends. Riverside Cottage, our largest cottage, sleeps 8 in 4 bedrooms and features 3 bathrooms, 2 dining areas, and 3 receptions. Teasel Cottage sleeps 6 in 3 bedrooms and has wheelchair access. Solace Lodge, our cozy lodge, sleeps 4 in 2 bedrooms and enjoys stunning riverside views.

About Our Houseboats

Our 5 houseboats are moored off the main river, providing a unique and peaceful retreat. Each houseboat can accommodate between 2 and 6 people, making them ideal for couples, families, or groups of friends.

About Our On-Site Facilities

We offer a range of on-site facilities to enhance your holiday experience. Our small shop stocks essential items, and our reception team is always happy to assist with any queries or bookings. Our restaurant, although not run by us, is conveniently located on-site. We also have camping sites, paddleboard and canoe hire, and a museum of the Broads nearby.
