Trusted Childcare & Preschool Services in Birmingham
Little Robins Day Nursery is part of a group of privately owned childcare settings dedicated to delivering exceptionally high standards of care and education for children aged 0 to 5 years. Established over two decades ago, we prioritise a nurturing environment where children feel secure and confident to develop to their full potential. Our approach focuses on in-the-moment planning and hands-on learning, minimising paperwork to maximise meaningful interactions with children. We work in partnership with parents to tailor experiences to individual needs, supported by the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) framework. Our team of qualified practitioners undergoes continuous professional development, ensuring expertise in areas such as safeguarding, first aid, and child development.

We utilise tools like Famly to share learning journeys with parents and provide access to downloadable resources. With dedicated spaces for babies, toddlers, and pre-school children, we maintain staff-to-child ratios of 1:3, 1:4, and 1:8 respectively, fostering personalised attention. Our curriculum integrates play-based learning, sensory development, and outdoor exploration to stimulate curiosity and foundational academic skills. We offer flexible funding options, including government-supported schemes, and operate Monday to Friday from 7:30am to 6:00pm, closed only for bank holidays and between Christmas and New Year.

Baby Room Care
Our baby room provides a calm, sensory-friendly environment with natural wooden furniture and soft lighting. Staff-to-child ratios of 1:3 ensure individual attention. Activities focus on physical development, communication skills, and emotional security through play-based learning tailored to each child's needs.
Toddler Development
The toddler room offers structured play activities aligned with EYFS requirements. Children engage in creative play, motor skill development, and social interaction. Staff encourage independence through self-service meals and toilet training support while maintaining a 1:4 staff-to-child ratio for personalised guidance.
Pre-School Education
Our pre-school programme prepares children for formal education through literacy, numeracy, and science activities. Using Letters and Sounds phonics, staff develop early reading skills. The 1:8 staff ratio allows focused attention on individual learning plans and key group sessions to build confidence for school transitions.
Funded Childcare
We offer government-funded childcare options including 15-hour and 30-hour entitlements for eligible families. Our team assists with funding applications and provides flexible booking arrangements. This support helps reduce childcare costs while maintaining access to high-quality early years education.
Outdoor Learning
Children access outdoor spaces daily for physical play and environmental exploration. Activities include weather observation, insect studies, and outdoor art. The garden environment promotes physical development and sensory learning through all-weather experiences, supporting the EYFS framework's focus on understanding the world.
