Our Story
We, Dale and Helen Bacon, have lived in Empingham for nearly 30 years and have a deep love for the area. Our commitment to preserving the charm of Primrose Hall is evident in every aspect of our cottage. As owners, we take pride in ensuring our guests have a comfortable and memorable stay. With Helen's experience as a retired primary school teacher and part-time gardener, and Dale's conservation volunteer work at Rutland Water, we have an extensive knowledge of the area and its attractions.
Our Services
Our holiday cottage offers a unique blend of modern comforts and traditional charm. The open-plan kitchen/diner and lounge area is perfect for relaxation and entertainment. The kitchen is fully equipped with all the essentials, including a fridge/freezer, toaster, coffee maker, microwave, electric oven, and hob. We also provide a box of breakfast basics to get your stay off to a great start.
To ensure a stress-free arrival, we offer a pre-ordered supermarket shop delivery service, where we receive and unpack your groceries ahead of your arrival. We're happy to provide recommendations on local attractions, amenities, and leisure facilities, and we're always available to answer any questions you may have.
What We Offer
Our cottage has two good-sized bedrooms, sleeping up to four people, and a spacious, open-plan ground floor. We welcome singles, couples, families, friends, and dogs. The village of Empingham offers a useful shop, hairdressing salon, medical centre, and pub, all within walking distance. The charming Georgian town of Stamford and Rutland's county town, Oakham, are just a 10-minute drive away.
