The Coledale Inn & Restaurant is a genuine country inn situated above Braithwaite Village in a peaceful hillside position, offering stunning views of the surrounding countryside. This charming hotel is steeped in history, having started life as a woollen mill, then a pencil mill, eventually becoming the licensed premises it is today. The inn is full of attractive Victorian prints, furnishings, and antiques, giving it a warm and welcoming atmosphere.
Our Services
We offer 20 newly refurbished en-suite bedrooms, each equipped with TV, tea/coffee making facilities, and ample hanging and drawer space for outdoor clothing and casual wear. Our rooms cater to different needs, including doubles, twin beds, and family rooms with bunk beds. We can also accommodate special requests and needs regarding your room.
In our dining room, we serve homemade meals for lunch and dinner, using fresh, locally sourced ingredients. Our menu includes vegetarian and children's meals, and we cater to special dietary requirements. Our two licensed bars, the Victorian Bar and the Georgian Bar, offer a fine selection of traditional and local ales, wines, and beers.

The Coledale Inn is ideally situated for touring and walking, with paths to the mountains immediately outside the hotel gardens. We offer ample parking, and you can leave your car for your entire stay, as there are plenty of walks that can be done from the hotel.
