Our Heritage, Ownership & Regulation
Our heritage dates back to the late 1930s when our Managing Director, Paul Lee-Bapty's father, worked for a family builder in Buckinghamshire. Over the years, Paul's father became more interested in funeral directing, and Paul followed in his footsteps, studying for his Diploma in Funeral Directing and acquiring the qualification in 1985. Paul spent many years in the corporate world of funeral directing until he opened South Downs Funeral Service in 2011. We are proud members of SAIF, The Society Of Allied And Independent Funeral Directors.

Our services include care of the deceased, funeral transportation, floristry, coffin collection, green funerals, pet cremations, and stonemasonry. We understand that every funeral service is unique and personal to the deceased and their family, and we will endeavour to ensure that our staff will discuss your personal wishes throughout and provide guidance and support to you and your family.
