Transforming Spaces, Building Tomorrows

At Queens Road Methodist Church Pre-School, we are committed to providing a warm, caring, and nurturing environment for young children. Our pre-school is dedicated to respecting individuality, valuing the whole child, and working together to learn and grow. We believe that all children are unique individuals and aim to help them develop at their own rate through challenging and exciting play.

Our Values

We believe that children learn most effectively when they are interested and motivated by the activities they engage with. We believe in the importance of a key person to help plan activities tailored to the needs of each individual child. We aim for every child to have the opportunity to enjoy stories and verse every day. We will encourage independence in all areas of development. Our experienced and qualified staff work tirelessly to create a stimulating and engaging environment that caters to the diverse needs of each child.

Our Staff

Our team of dedicated and passionate educators is led by our Manager, Mrs. Kate Sheppard, who has a CACHE Level 3 diploma in childcare and education from Norland College. Our Deputy Manager, Mrs. Catherine Bennett, is an NVQ Level 3 in childcare and education. We also have a team of experienced assistants, including Mrs. Diane Newton, NNEB in childcare, Mrs. Helen Gray, Level 3 Diploma in Child Care and Education, Mrs. Marie Trenchard, Level 3 Diploma in Child Care and Education, and Mr. Mark Lapham, NVQ 3 in childcare. Our Secretary, Mrs. Jean Pope, has been with the pre-school since 1990.

Our Services

We offer a range of sessions to cater to the needs of our families, including morning, afternoon, and all-day sessions. Our sessions run Monday to Friday, with flexible timing options to suit your family's needs. We accept children from 2 years 6 months to 3 years old, with a maximum of four children per session. We also offer 15 hours of free childcare for children from the term after their third birthday, funded by the Early Years Entitlement.

Fees

Our fees are currently 6.00 per hour, payable one month in advance. We understand that costs are the same whether a child is present or not; therefore, fees are not refundable for casual absences. If your child leaves our pre-school, four weeks' notice must be given, or four weeks' fees paid in lieu of notice.
