Our History
Established in 1977, our family-run business has been delivering high-quality eye care and professional, friendly service to our loyal, local customers for over 40 years. Our team, led by owner and qualified Dispensing Optician, Alex Allan, FBDO, and supported by daughter and Dispensing Optician, Lucy Wilson FBDO, specializes in lenses and frames, measurements, eye examinations, repairs, fittings, and general patient care.
Our Services
We provide a full range of professional optical services to support you with all your eye health needs. From our shop in Sherwood, we carry out:
- Eye examinations for NHS and private patients of all ages
- Prescription glasses and sunglasses, including designer frames and bespoke lenses
- Contact lenses, including soft lenses, rigid gas permeable lenses, daily disposables, and multifocal lenses
- Lens consultancy, working closely with our main supplier Zeiss and also Varilux
- Children's eyecare, specializing in frames for children as young as 10 months
- Repair service for glasses and lenses
- Retinal photography to detect early health conditions
- On-site laboratories for speedy production and repair of prescription glasses and sunglasses
- NHS allowances and vouchers for eligible patients
- Home visit service for patients who are unable to visit our practice
