With its beautiful setting, the club's iconic Balgownie Links course is a testament to the game's rich history and its evolution over the years.

The Club's History

Founded in 1780, Royal Aberdeen Golf Club's story began when a group of gentlemen decided to create a golf course on the Queen's Links, a beautiful coastal stretch of land. Over the years, the club has seen many changes, including the introduction of new technologies, course design innovations, and the opening of new facilities. Despite these changes, the club has remained committed to its core values of promoting the game, encouraging junior golfers, and celebrating the beauty of the natural surroundings.

The Course

Our iconic Balgownie Links course is a masterpiece of traditional links golf, designed by the Simpson Brothers and later re-bunkered and lengthened by James Braid.
