Savoring the Flavors of the Sea
At The Urchin, we're passionate about preserving the spirit of the dockyard, where simple, fresh shellfish was always at the heart of any gathering. Today, we're proud to serve you the same fresh, handcrafted brews, and a curated selection of wines in a relaxed environment, every day of the week.
Our story began when we became a freehouse in 2016, allowing us to offer a wider range of beers, both on tap and in bottles. In 2018, we took it to the next level by installing a micro-brewery in our basement, where our head brewer, Nick, creates unique and delicious beers that we proudly serve as our own, "Larrikin". Our brewery offers a range of regular beers, as well as a continually updating selection of craft beers.
Food
Our menus are designed to showcase the freshest, highest-quality shellfish, expertly prepared by our Chef to bring out the full flavour and texture. We have two core menus: Regulars and Specials. The Regular Menu features our signature dishes, made consistently to our high standards. Our Specials menu offers a chance for our Chef to be creative, with dishes changing regularly to keep things fresh and exciting.
Drinks
We love beer, and we're passionate about serving the best, whether it's our own "Larrikin" brews or a wide range of craft beers from around the world. Our expertly curated selection of wines is designed to complement our shellfish dishes, with a focus on wines from Mediterranean coastal areas. Whether you're a beer connoisseur or a wine enthusiast, you'll find something to suit your taste at The Urchin.
Events
At The Urchin, we're always excited to host events, whether it's a special occasion or just a fun gathering with friends. Our kitchen takes a rest on Mondays, making it the perfect day for events. If you're interested in hosting an event, please get in touch and we'll be happy to help.
