Our Services
Our nursery school operates during term times, Monday to Friday from 9am to 3pm, with a choice of morning and/or afternoon sessions. We offer a range of services, including:
- Full-day and half-day sessions
- Pre-prep sessions for Reception Class transition
- Extra-curricular activities, such as tennis, drama, French, Spanish, art, design, and music
- Regular trips to the library
- Indoor and outdoor play areas
- Experienced and qualified staff who are DBS checked and first aid trained
Our Staff
All of our staff at Kensington House Nursery School are qualified in childcare and early years education, DBS checked, and first aid trained. Our team is led by our Principal and Headmistress, Miss Dorothy, who has many years of experience in early years education.
Our Approach
At Kensington House Nursery School, we believe that learning should be interesting, stimulating, and fun. We provide a wide range of activities that enable children to experience hands-on learning, such as making ice, baking cookies, and growing plants. We also encourage independence and self-confidence in our children through activities such as preparing their own snacks and pouring their own drinks.
Assessment and Planning
We assess and plan for our children based on the recommendations of the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) and the OFSTED framework. Our assessments and planning are tailored to each child's individual needs and abilities, taking into account their unique developmental journey.
Our Curriculum
Our curriculum is designed to meet the needs of children from 1 to 5 years of age, covering the Prime Areas of Learning and Development, including personal, social, and emotional development, communication and language, and physical development. We also cover the Specific Areas of Learning and Development, including literacy, mathematics, understanding the world, and expressive arts and design.
