At Ecco Theatre Arts, we pride ourselves on providing high-quality performing arts lessons to students of all ages and abilities. Our expert teachers are dedicated to helping you or your child discover a new passion, skill, or simply to have fun and be creative.

Our History

Ecco Theatre Arts was founded in 1992 by Amanda Horne, who began teaching dance classes in a church hall in Ecclesfield. Over the years, we have grown and expanded, moving to new premises in 1995 and 2012, before finally settling into our current home at 122 Scotland Street in Sheffield.

Our Services

At Ecco, we offer a wide range of dance classes and styles, including Acro, Ballet, Commercial, Contemporary, Freestyle/Street, Pre-School Dance, Tap, Theatre Craft, Theatre Dance, and Rock and Roll. We also have Performing Arts sessions that combine dance, drama, and singing. Our classes are designed to suit all ages and abilities, from 2-year-olds starting their dance journey to adults looking to try something new.

Our Classes

• Acro: A fusion of dance and gymnastics, emphasizing strength, flexibility, and athletic movement.
• Ballet: A classical dance form emphasizing elegance, grace, and creative expression, with benefits including strength, control, and flexibility.
• Commercial: A high-energy dance style inspired by music videos, concerts, and TV, focusing on performance skills and showmanship.
• Contemporary: An expressive dance style blending Ballet, Lyrical, and Modern techniques, emphasizing fluid movement and connection between body and mind.
• Freestyle/Street: An athletic dance style incorporating runs, jumps, and spins, with a focus on body isolations and syncopated rhythms.
• Pre-Competition Class: A class for students interested in competitive Freestyle dance, focusing on teaching fundamental moves and components.
• Performing Arts: A comprehensive program covering acting, dancing, and singing, culminating in shows and performances.
• Pre-School Dance: A fun introduction to dance for ages 2-4, blending theatre dance, freestyle, and party dance styles.
• Tap: A fun, rhythmical dance style emphasizing footwork, timing, and music interpretation.

Performances and Shows

Throughout the year, our students perform in bi-annual dance shows and annual Performing Arts productions. We also offer presentations and displays, giving our students the opportunity to shine on stage.

Teaching Team

Our teaching team is fully qualified and DBS checked. We pride ourselves on having a dedicated and passionate team of instructors who are dedicated to helping our students grow and develop their skills.

At Ecco Theatre Arts, our mission is to provide high-quality performing arts lessons at an affordable price for all. We aim to encourage children in the art form they choose to do, helping pupils develop their self-confidence and self-esteem.
