A Brief History
Over the past 40 years, Alpha has grown from a small offset litho printer into an innovative and forward-thinking company operating from a large-scale purpose-built factory close to the M5. Established in 1979 by current Chairman Jeff Williams, Alpha grew throughout the eighties, specialising in offset litho work and developed an enviable reputation for quality and reliability. 1988 saw the development of the firm's colour printing services and Alpha rapidly became known for its expertise; continuously surpassing the expectations of their clients. By the early 1990s Alpha's success meant they outgrew their original premises, and May 2001 saw Alpha move to purpose-built premises in Quedgeley and over the next few years came further expansion to house the growing print management and fulfillment services, including the colossal addition of greeting cards back in 2002.

Our digital printing capabilities allow for fast turnaround times, usually within 24 hours. The technology also allows for inexpensive personalisation, making tailored marketing simple. Printing at an impressively high-resolution of 1200pi, our Ricoh Pro press produces work of an outstanding quality, far superior to that of standard digital presses. We offer cost-effective short runs, providing an economical solution for smaller jobs, saving on plate costs.
