Saint Kevin's Primary School

St. Kevin's Catholic Primary School, located in the heart of West Belfast, has been a staple of the community since its establishment in 1933. With a rich history and a commitment to providing the best education and care for its students, St. Kevin's moved to a new, state-of-the-art building in 2004. The school is dedicated to the overall development of each child, ensuring they receive not only an excellent education but also a nurturing environment that produces happy, confident, and well-rounded individuals.

St. Kevin's is a Catholic Maintained Primary School, with a diverse and vibrant community of 600 students. The school was originally two separate institutions for boys and girls, but it amalgamated in 1994 with the promise of a new building. This promise became a reality in 2004, when the school moved into its current, state-of-the-art facility.

The dedicated Board of Governors oversees the effective management of the school. Comprised of trustees, representatives from the Belfast Education and Library Board, the Department of Education, a Parent representative, and a teacher representative, the Board works tirelessly to ensure the school upholds the values and aims of Catholic Education.

St. Kevin's is committed to providing appropriate and effective learning opportunities for all students. The school follows the stages of the Primary Curriculum, with a strong focus on Areas of Learning, including Communication and Literacy, Mathematics and Numeracy, Using Information and Communication Technology (ICT), and The Arts (Art and Design, Music and Drama).

In addition, St. Kevin's places a high emphasis on Religious Education, The World Around Us (Geography, History, and Science and Technology), and Physical Education.
