Where creativity meets craftsmanship
Crown Works Pottery is an independent pottery studio based in East London, tucked away in a charming Victorian mews near Bethnal Green. With a warm and welcoming atmosphere, the studio is home to 21 potters and artists who regularly teach and mentor students of all skill levels. Our mission is to share our passion for ceramics with others, providing a unique and supportive environment where students can develop their skills and creativity.
At Crown Works Pottery, we offer a diverse range of classes, from short taster sessions to longer courses and workshops. Our expert teachers, who are all professional potters or artists, provide personalized guidance and instruction. We cater to beginners and experienced potters alike, ensuring that each student receives the attention and support they need to flourish.
Our studio is divided into two main teaching rooms, each dedicated to the two main forms of pottery-making: throwing on the wheel and handbuilding. Each room has its own dedicated teachers who specialize in that particular discipline, ensuring the most skilled teachings for each method. With a limited class size of ten people per session, students receive individualized attention and a chance to fully immerse themselves in the creative process.
In addition to our regular classes, we offer one-off masterclasses and private workshops, as well as specialized sessions focused on specific techniques or materials. Our instructors are always experimenting with new techniques and processes, ensuring that our classes stay fresh and exciting.
One of the unique aspects of Crown Works Pottery is our in-house makers' studio, where our resident potters and artists create their own bespoke ceramics. This provides students with the opportunity to witness a working pottery and see the craftsmanship and attention to detail that goes into producing high-quality ceramics.
Our team is dedicated to providing an exceptional learning experience, from the moment you step into our studio. We take pride in creating a warm and welcoming atmosphere that makes everyone feel at home. Whether you're a complete beginner or an experienced potter, we're confident that our unique approach and expert instructors will inspire and nurture your creative journey.
