Our Story
Myself, Lisa Gornall, and my husband, Richard, began our adventure at The Hideaway Hotel in November 2004. With a shared passion for hospitality and a wealth of experience in the industry, we set out to create a luxurious hotel experience in Windermere that would pamper and indulge guests without breaking the bank.
We were fortunate enough to travel extensively during our time at Virgin Atlantic Airways, experiencing some of the best hospitality in the world. It was during this time that we realized the importance of combining exceptional service, delicious food, and stylish surroundings to create a truly unforgettable experience.
With our skills and experiences, we set about transforming The Hideaway at Windermere, sympathetically reviving the Victorian features whilst adding a contemporary twist. Since then, we have continually improved and refined our services, earning us a 4 Yellow Star rating from the AA.
