Who We Are
At First Steps Nursery at Froebelian, we pride ourselves on being a warm and welcoming space for children to grow and develop. Our nursery is located in the heart of Horsforth, conveniently close to the A65, the Leeds Ring Road and The Froebelian School. We cater for children from 3 months to 5 years old, providing a nurturing environment that fosters a lifelong love of learning.
What We Do
Our philosophy is simple: "inspiring and enabling young children to reach their true potential through education and play." We follow the concepts of Friedrich Froebel, the German educator who created the concept of kindergarten. Our team of experienced and passionate educators work together to create a stimulating and engaging environment that encourages children to explore, discover, and learn.
Learning and Development
We believe that every child is unique and special, and our goal is to provide a curriculum that is tailored to each child's individual needs. Our nursery is designed to create opportunities for learning and development, both in individual and group situations. Learning in the Baby Room
In our Baby Room, we focus on active play for the under 2's. We provide a safe and stimulating environment that encourages children to explore, discover, and learn through sensory play, music, and movement. Our experienced educators work closely with parents to understand each child's unique needs and preferences.
Learning in the Foundation Room
In our Foundation Room, we focus on body and brain development. We provide a curriculum that is designed to develop children's physical, social, and emotional skills. Our activities are carefully planned to encourage children to learn through play, exploration, and discovery.
Healthy Eating
We believe that a healthy diet is essential for happy children. Our nursery offers a nutritious and balanced menu that is designed to meet the dietary needs of children. We encourage children to develop healthy eating habits and to appreciate the joys of eating a variety of fruits and vegetables.
Meet the Team
Our team of educators is highly experienced and passionate about providing the best start in life for children. Our team includes Ruth Knowles, our Nursery Manager, who has a wealth of early years experience and holds a BA Honours Degree in Sociology and Business Management. We also have an experienced Deputy Manager, Genna, who leads our Foundation Unit and is passionate about messy play and the outdoors. Our other educators include Sam, Caroline, and Liz, who have all spent many years working with children and have extensive experience in the early years sector.
