Embracing the Whole Person, Empowering a Healthier You

Welcome to our osteopathic practice, where we are dedicated to providing the highest standard of healthcare. Our practice is led by Stephen Hipkiss, a fully registered osteopath with the General Osteopathic Council and a member of the Institute of Osteopathy and the Sutherland Cranial College of Osteopathy. With over 20 years of experience in osteopathic practice around Kent, Stephen is committed to delivering patient-centred care that considers each individual's unique needs.

Stephen's journey into osteopathy began in his teens when he was diagnosed with a mild curvature of the spine. Impressed with the effectiveness of osteopathic treatment, he decided to pursue a career in osteopathy. He completed his osteopathic degree in 2002 and has since honed his skills in a broad range of structural and cranial techniques. Stephen's vision of patient-centred care has been a cornerstone of his practice, and he continuously develops his skills through continuing professional development.

At our practice, we believe that the best treatment results come when patients are considered as a whole, not just a collection of symptoms to be managed. We provide tailored treatments that meet each individual's needs, using the most appropriate techniques, be they muscle stretching and massage, joint mobilisation and manipulation, or gentle cranial and functional techniques.

We are committed to providing you with the best possible osteopathic care so that you don't have to suffer pain unnecessarily. Our practice is a safe and welcoming environment where we listen to your concerns and work with you to achieve your healthcare goals.

Our Services

Osteopathy is a system of diagnosis and treatment for a wide range of medical conditions. It works with the structure and function of the body, and is based on the principle that the well-being of the individual depends on the skeleton, muscles, ligaments and connective tissues functioning smoothly together. When treating a patient, an osteopath considers not just the presenting symptoms but the patient's situation as a whole.

At our practice, we commonly treat:

  • General acute and chronic backache and back pain
  • Arthritic pain - for example, hip and knee pain from osteoarthritis as an adjunct to core osteoarthritis treatments and exercise
  • Neck pain, headache and migraine
  • Sciatica
  • Muscle spasms
  • Neuralgia
  • Frozen shoulder
  • Limb joint pain - pain in the feet, ankles, knees, hips, shoulders, elbows, wrists and hands
  • Fibromyalgia
  • Relaxation difficulties - including helping to manage the physical expression of stress and emotional anxiety
  • Minor sports injuries and tensions

The Institute of Osteopathy's guidance for general practitioners is that doctors can safely refer patients to osteopaths. Our practice is a safe and effective alternative to traditional medical treatments, and we work closely with other healthcare professionals to ensure that our patients receive the best possible care.
