At G Filer Engineering Ltd, we pride ourselves on our rich family history in metalwork, which has been passed down through generations. Our team of skilled engineers has the skills and tools to repair all types of metal, including ferrous and non-ferrous materials such as steel, aluminum, cast iron, and stainless steel. We undertake many areas of heavy engineering, using an extensive selection of machinery, including traditional engineering work within many forgotten areas. Our expertise includes hot riveting, building and repairing vintage steam boilers, vintage cranes, and historical structures.

Our Services

We offer a wide range of services, including metalwork and steelwork, coded welding and fabrication, and structural steelwork. Our experienced welders hold a number of different codings in order to undertake CE certified structural steelwork. We have the ability to interpret any drawings, from complete structural plans and industrial items to simple sketches for domestic gates and railings. Whether it's a big or small project, our skilled team is ready to provide the best possible solution.

History

Our company was founded by Graham Filer, who began helping out in the family business of M G Filer Ltd, repairing vintage steam boilers. This led to a growing interest in metalwork, and in 2008, G Filer Engineering was set up with the aim of working closer with fabrication. The business maintained a steady growth, and in 2013, it became a limited company. Today, we have a team of 5 members and are looking forward to continuing our success in the future.

Workshops and Facilities

We have the use of two separate workshops, which enables us to undertake all projects. Our modern machines and resources include arc, Mig, Tig & Gas Welding, horizontal and vertical metalworking lathes, horizontal and vertical milling, portable & stationary radial drill, bolt threading, rolling, presses, riveting, and stress relieving furnace.
