At Stepping Stones Play and Learn, we are a registered charity and a non-profit making group that provides a unique and inclusive environment for children to play and learn together. Our mission is to promote imagination, creativity, and perseverance, encouraging children to play and learn alongside their peers.
Our Services
We offer a range of services aimed at promoting the development of our children in a safe and nurturing environment. Our services include:
- Providing a base for multi-agency work to enhance the lives of our children
- Offering a range of resources and equipment to develop fine and gross motor skills
- Encouraging imagination and creativity through play
- Providing opportunities for children to access our sensory room and sensory circuit
- Working closely with other professionals to ensure holistic support for our children
Our Team
Our team is comprised of experienced and qualified professionals who are passionate about providing exceptional care and support for our children. Our team includes:
- Sue Townsend, Group Coordinator, who has been working in childcare since 2012
- Donna, Deputy Group Coordinator, who has been working in childcare since 1976 and was awarded an MBE in 2024 for services to Early Years and Special Educational Needs
- Jade, Assistant Manager, who has been working in childcare since 2009
- Becky, Early Years Lead Practitioner, who has been working in childcare since 2007
- Sharon, Nursery Assistant, who has been working in childcare since 2016
- Wendy, Designated Safeguarding Officer, who has been working in childcare since 2016
- Megan, Nursery Assistant, who has been working in childcare since 2021
- Becca, Nursery Assistant, who has been working in childcare since 2011
- Charlie, Nursery Assistant, who has been working in childcare since 2012

We are proud to have achieved an Outstanding rating from Ofsted, and our Annual Satisfaction Survey has shown that:
- 100% of our current parents would recommend Stepping Stones to a friend or colleague
- 90% of our current parents rated the care and support their child receives at nursery as very high quality
- 100% of our current parents strongly agree that our outdoor environment provides a range of learning experiences
- 80% of our current parents felt their child's settling in period was very positive
