Learn, Grow, and Thrive in a Nurturing Environment
Established in 1990, we are a registered charity, run by a committee of current and ex-parents and current and ex-members of staff. Our Pre-School is Ofsted inspected and is a member of the Pre-School Learning Alliance. We are committed to providing a safe, fun, and stimulating environment for young children to learn and grow.
Our Approach
We believe that children are born ready and programmed to learn, given the right support from their environment and the adults around them. At Clockhouse Pre-School, we use a child-led approach, allowing children to take the lead in their learning experiences. We believe that play is the most effective way to learn, and our trained and experienced staff are skilled in planning and delivering a curriculum that is tailored to each child's unique needs and interests.
Our Curriculum
Our curriculum is based on the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) framework, which sets out seven areas of learning and development that we focus on:
- Communication and Language
- Physical Development
- Personal, Social and Emotional Development
- Literacy
- Mathematics
- Understanding the World
- Expressive Arts and Design
We provide a wide range of activities and resources to support children's learning and interests. Our curriculum is designed to be flexible and responsive to children's interests, allowing us to take advantage of spontaneous learning opportunities that may arise.
Our Environments
Our Pre-School has two main play areas: an indoor space and an outdoor area. Our indoor space is equipped with a variety of resources, including toys, books, and creative materials. Our outdoor area provides a space for children to explore and learn about nature, using natural materials and equipment. We also have a dedicated creative area, where children can enjoy arts and crafts activities.
Our Staff
Our team of experienced and trained staff are committed to providing a nurturing and stimulating environment for our children. We have a small team of dedicated staff who work together to create a safe, fun, and engaging environment for our children.
What We Do
At Clockhouse Pre-School, we provide a nurturing and stimulating environment where children can learn and grow. Our expert staff plan and deliver a curriculum that is tailored to each child's unique needs and interests. We believe that children learn best through play, and our resources and activities are designed to inspire creativity, curiosity, and imagination.
Parental Involvement
We encourage parental involvement and invite parents to come into school to help, teach, learn, or play with their children. We also use an online learning journal, Tapestry, to keep parents informed about their child's progress and activities.
