Nurturing young minds, one sunflower at a time.

At Little Sunflowers Child Care, we provide a safe, happy, stable, caring, and stimulating environment that enables every child to reach their full potential from nursery to our breakfast and afterschool club. Our dream was born out of the need for a nurturing environment for our own children, and we have continued to grow and flourish as a family-run and family-owned business.

Our Story

Our founder, Jacqui Clark, struggled to find a nursery in the local area that provided a nurturing environment for her son to develop, learn, and grow. Determined to provide that care for her son and other children in the area, Little Sunflowers was born! To this day, we are still family-run and family-owned, with both Jacqui and her daughter working on site full-time. This is the wish that became a dream that is now a reality! Our latest Ofsted Inspection is available to download below.

Our Services

We offer a unique approach to childcare, where children of all ages come together to reap numerous benefits. Our nursery is divided into three rooms: Baby Room (0-1 year), Toddler Room (1-2 years), and Pre-school Room (2-4 years). We believe in a family atmosphere, where siblings can be together, and children can play, learn, and grow alongside each other. Our staff plan age-appropriate activities to ensure every child reaches their full potential. We have an area for younger children to relax and unwind, and a separate pre-school area to prepare older children for big school.

Communication

We believe in the art of conversation and do not use communication apps. Instead, we take the time to have a conversation with you about your child's daily activities, meals, and sleep patterns. We also send out a monthly newsletter to keep you updated on our activities and events.

Our Philosophy

We believe that children of all ages can benefit from a mixed-age group environment, providing younger children with the facility to encourage their social and cognitive development and older children with the opportunity to practice prosocial, self-regulatory, and leadership skills. Our research-based approach has demonstrated that children can benefit from a family atmosphere, where they can learn from each other and develop essential life skills.
