Our History
Founded by Kenneth Wakefield in 1957, Wakefields has evolved and developed over the years into a multi-discipline practice. Recent expansion of the business has enabled us to further our expertise in architectural design and specification, the restoration of historic buildings, and digital scanning. Our coverage area has also increased due to requirements from new and existing clients, which has led to our work extending to Northumberland, Scotland, and North Yorkshire.
Meet Our Team
Our team of experienced professionals is led by Partners Mark Watson and Andrew Lorimer. Mark studied at the University of Northumbria, graduating in 1994 with an honors degree in Building Surveying, and gaining Chartered Building Surveyor status in 1998. He joined Wakefields in 2001 and became a Partner in the practice in 2007. Andrew obtained an honors degree in Information Management from Queen Margaret University College in Edinburgh in 2000 and went on to become a Senior Business Analyst before deciding upon a career change to Building Surveying.
