Welcome to Excel Accounts, a family-run business specialising in accountancy services for small self-employed sole traders and partnerships. Based in Tamworth, Staffordshire, we are proud to serve a diverse range of clients in and around the local area. Unfortunately, we do not cover limited company businesses.

As a small business ourselves, we understand the importance of time management and the challenges of handling the financial side of a business. We are here to take the pain and stress out of self-assessment, allowing you to focus on running your business and enjoying your evenings and weekends.

We pride ourselves on being professional, friendly, and affordable, and we are committed to providing an excellent service at a reasonable price. We are not a corporate business and do not use jargon or buzzwords that you won't understand. We are just nice, friendly people who enjoy what we do.

Sally has been in the accountancy field since 1994, becoming a full member of the Association of Accounting Technicians (AAT) in 1998. She was admitted as a Fellow Member in May 2004 and is licensed and regulated by AAT under license number 2197. Sally is also insured by Maltings insurance.

Our Services

At Excel Accounts, we specialise in the following areas:

• Startup Advice: Let us take the stress out of setting up a new business. We can complete and submit all the necessary paperwork to HMRC to ensure your business is set up correctly and as quickly as possible.
• Accountancy: We can prepare year-end financial statements from your own bookkeeping records or those completed by ourselves.
• Bookkeeping: We offer two options for bookkeeping. Firstly, our own simple online bookkeeping spreadsheets that you can use at no extra charge. Secondly, for those who want a more in-depth view of the business, we have partnered with Quickbooks as Pro Advisors.
• Self-employed Tax Returns: We complete Personal Self Assessment Tax Returns online, so that returns are processed promptly and we are usually able to obtain tax refunds (if applicable) within 7-10 days from when the return has been completed and submitted.
• VAT Returns: We can register/deregister your business for VAT and complete and submit VAT returns on your behalf. Our Quickbooks software is fully MTD compliant.
• Quickbooks Pro Advisors: As certified QuickBooks ProAdvisors, we can provide discounted software to our clients, and help set up, and support you along the way.
• HMRC Penalty Appeals: If you have got behind with your taxes or missed the deadline, come and speak to us sooner rather than later. We work closely with HMRC to help get your tax affairs up to date and in most circumstances can get the penalties reduced or even cancelled.

We operate on a fixed fee basis, so our annual fees are inclusive of the usual help & support that you should need throughout the year.
