St Paulinus Pre-School is a long-standing, non-profit making charity that has been serving the Edenbridge community for over 30 years. We are located in a traditional church hall setting, offering a caring and friendly environment for children aged between two to five years old. Our dedicated team of highly qualified staff members are committed to providing child-centred learning, following the national curriculum to help each child reach their full developmental potential.

At St Paulinus Pre-School, we believe in promoting social and cognitive skills through play, preparing children for the transition to primary school. Our focus is to provide an environment that enables children to learn at their own pace, while building their confidence and independence. Our excellent OFSTED reports attest to the high-quality care and education provided at our Pre-School. We are proud to be affiliated with the Pre-School Learning Alliance, a leading early years membership organization.

Our Services

At St Paulinus Pre-School, we offer a variety of services designed to meet the needs of families with young children. Our services include:

  • Pre-School sessions: Our pre-school sessions run from 9:15 to 12:15, Monday to Friday. These sessions are designed to provide a stimulating learning environment, where children can learn through play.
  • Lunch club: We offer a lunch club from 12:15 to 13:15, Monday to Friday. This additional hour is an opportunity for children to develop social skills and independence.
  • Funded hours: We are registered with the government's 'free for two' scheme, offering free Pre-School funding for two year olds who are eligible for extra support. To check availability or apply for funding, please contact the Pre-School or the Edenbridge Children's Centre.

Our Curriculum

  • Communication, Language and Literacy: We encourage children to speak and listen in a range of situations, promoting language development and literacy.
  • Problem Solving, Reasoning and Numeracy: We develop children's mathematical understanding and problem-solving skills, promoting the ability to think critically and reason.
  • Knowledge and Understanding of the World: We encourage children to make sense of their physical world and the community around them, promoting curiosity and exploration.
  • Physical Development: We promote physical development, providing opportunities for children to be active and interactive.
  • Creative Development: We encourage children's creativity, providing opportunities for imaginative and expressive play.

Parents' and Carers' Involvement

At St Paulinus Pre-School, we recognize the importance of parental involvement in a child's learning. We welcome parents and carers to be a part of our strong committee, helping to form policies and organizing events for the benefit of the children. We believe that when parents and staff work together to support a child's learning, it can have a measurable and lasting effect on their achievement.
