Located just a stone's throw away from Rickmansworth station, town centre, and aquadrome, Rickmansworth Lawn Tennis & Social Club is a proud tennis club with a rich history that dates back to 1922. We are a family-friendly club that offers a competitive and social playing environment for tennis enthusiasts of all ages and abilities. Our club is renowned throughout Hertfordshire for our excellent facilities and LTA qualified coaching team.
Facilities
Our facilities include:
- 10 courts, comprising 6 floodlit Astroturf and 4 Hard-Court
- A modern clubhouse with a fully licensed bar and big screen viewing for major sporting events
- Active competition and social table tennis club
- Female and male changing rooms with shower facilities
- Generous hard-standing car park
- Beautifully kept grounds, including verandas, outside seating, and BBQ area
Coaching
We are pleased to offer a thriving junior coaching programme, led by our experienced coaching team, which includes over 24 teams competing in the Watford & District, Hertfordshire Leagues. We cater to all ages and abilities, with individual and group lessons, rusty racquets, and mini tennis available.
Table Tennis
Table tennis enthusiasts will be pleased to know that we have an active table tennis club that meets twice a week. Cardio fitness sessions are also available.
Social Events
We host over 12 social events per year, including bridge days, American doubles, second-generation tournaments, quiz nights, and summer/Christmas events. Tea and cake are served on Saturdays during social tennis.

Prospective members are welcome to take advantage of free taster sessions, and we have a wide range of membership options to suit you.
Club History
Established in 1922, our club has a rich history that we are incredibly proud of. We have been proud hosts of the annual Rickmansworth Open for the past 23 years, where people come from all over the country to compete. Our coaching team, led by Jordan Miles, offers programmes for all ages and all levels, and our information on the history of RLTC comes from committee minute meeting books and other records held in the club's archive.
