Here at North West Equine Vets, we pride ourselves on offering exceptional equine care and a wide range of services for our clients in Yorkshire, South Cumbria, and Lancashire, whilst maintaining the friendly atmosphere and high level of personal attention associated with a smaller practice. Our main clinics are based at Rathmell in Yorkshire, Lupton in Cumbria, and Great Harwood in Lancashire.
Our History
North West Equine Vets was established in 2015, when neighbouring equine practices Dalehead and Westmorland joined forces to offer a wider range of services. In 2018, we teamed up with Aldington Equine Vets to further increase the wealth of expertise and facilities offered to our clients. North West Equine Vets is proud to be independently owned by our directors, Jane King, Paul Smith, Catherine Speakman, and Richard Knight, all of whom are practicing equine vets at NWEV. This means that the care and welfare of your horse is our number one priority, and we do not answer to anyone else.
Our Team
Our team of experienced and compassionate vets and support staff are dedicated to providing personalized care for every horse that comes through our doors. Our team is led by our directors, who are all experienced equine vets with a range of specializations and interests. We have a team of 15 equine vets who are committed to providing the highest level of care for your horse.
Our Services
We offer a wide range of services, including lameness investigation, diagnostics, internal medicine, gastroscopy, poor performance investigation, stud medicine, euthanasia, equine dentistry, pre-purchase examinations, surgical procedures, vaccinations, JMB height measurement, laser surgery, identification, and worming. We are also Official DEFRA Vets and provide riding school inspections.
Our Clinics
We have three clinics located across Yorkshire, South Cumbria, and Lancashire. Our clinics are fully equipped with the latest technology and facilities to provide the highest level of care for your horse. Our purpose-built clinic at Rathmell has full surgical and hospitalization facilities.
