Services
Solar Panel Installation
Professional solar panel installations tailored to Dorset properties, using high-efficiency photovoltaic technology. Our MCS-certified team conducts comprehensive property surveys to determine optimal system configurations, ensuring maximum energy generation. We handle all aspects from grid connection to performance optimisation, with zero-VAT eligibility and guidance on available grants. Systems typically reduce energy bills by 50-80% while increasing property value.
Battery Storage
Tesla Powerwall and myenergi battery installations for storing surplus solar energy. Our certified engineers design systems that enable night-time usage of daytime generation, reducing grid dependency. Integrated solutions allow EV charging from stored energy and participation in smart export guarantee schemes. Systems include real-time monitoring apps to track energy flows and optimise consumption patterns.
EV Charger Installation
Approved installation of Tesla, myenergi, and universal EV charging systems. We assess electrical capacity and recommend optimal charger types (240V or DC fast) based on vehicle requirements. Solutions integrate with solar systems for zero-grid charging, including smart tariff programming and off-peak charging options. All installations comply with current safety standards and include user training.
Electrical Contracting
Full-spectrum electrical contracting for residential and commercial properties. Services include rewiring, fuse board upgrades, and integration of renewable systems with existing infrastructure. Our certified electricians follow strict safety protocols and provide detailed testing documentation. Work includes guarantees on materials and workmanship, with emergency repair availability.
Full Installation Testing
Comprehensive testing of complete electrical and renewable energy systems post-installation. Includes safety checks, performance validation against specifications, and grid connection verification. We provide detailed reports with energy generation projections and maintenance schedules. Testing ensures compliance with MCS standards and eligibility for government incentives.
Questions
Do I need planning permission for solar panels?
Most installations qualify as permitted development, but listed buildings and conservation areas may require specific consent. We advise during the survey process.
Can solar panels charge my electric vehicle?
Yes, our systems integrate EV charging with solar generation, allowing direct charging or battery storage usage. We optimise systems for vehicle charging requirements.
What roof orientation works best for solar?
South-facing roofs at 30-40 degrees provide optimal performance, though east/west installations still generate 80-90% of maximum potential output in Dorset's climate.
How long do solar panel systems last?
Our installations typically exceed 25 years' operational life. Inverters may require replacement after 10-15 years, with performance warranties covering 80% efficiency at 25 years.
Are there grants available for installations?
Zero-VAT applies to qualifying solar and battery systems. The Smart Export Guarantee pays for excess grid-fed electricity, with OZEV grants available for EV chargers.
What happens during power outages?
Battery systems can provide backup power when specified. Grid-tied systems without storage will automatically shut down during outages for safety reasons.
