Our driving school is operated under franchise from the Learner Driving Centre, which has been helping driving instructors provide quality driver training services for over 30 years.

Our Story

After a successful career in the Royal Air Force, I, Mick Smith, decided to pursue a second career in driving instruction. With over 39 years of driving and riding experience, I felt compelled to share my knowledge and skills with others. I joined the Institute of Advanced Motorists, passing both the advanced motorcycle and car tests, and later became a fully qualified Government Approved Driving Instructor (ADI). I chose to work with LDC because of their unique student-centred learning techniques and the incredible LD System, which allows for flexibility in lessons and helps learners to progress at their own pace.

Our Services

We offer a range of driving courses and driving lesson packages, tailored to suit individual needs. Our services include:

• A range of courses with a driving test booked at the end
• Pay-as-you-go driving lessons
• Intensive driving courses and crash courses
• Theory test preparation and Hazard Perception test preparation

The LD System

Our driving instructors are trained in the use of the LD System, which is a student-centred learning system that helps learners progress at their own pace. The system includes access to our LDC online students learning hub, which allows learners to study and review driving tasks before and after each lesson. This system helps learners to make rapid progress, save time and money on unnecessary explanations in the car, and develop a sense of confidence and independence.

About Me

A bit about myself - when retirement came after a long successful career in the Royal Air Force, I wanted a second career that would give me real job satisfaction. With over 39 years of driving and riding experience, I have always enjoyed driving and have ridden or driven everything from a motorcycle to a truck. Over recent years, I have become more involved with road safety and a few years ago joined the Institute of Advanced Motorists, passing both the advanced motorcycle and car tests. I have always enjoyed driving and have felt compelled to pass on some of the experience I have gained over the years.
