System Issues and Poor Customer Service
Several reviewers have had issues with the system and customer service provided by Troon. Devin Roloff had to wait for weeks to get his Troon Summer card set up and was told to pay for another one because they didn't see a purchase, despite sending his receipt and credit card transaction. KillrWhale had a similar experience, waiting almost a month for his card to be activated and being unable to get anyone to respond to his emails or phone calls. Dan Watkins also reported difficulty with the system, having to constantly track his points to ensure they were credited correctly.
Poor Customer Experience
Authors James Miller, James Barker, and Dan Watkins all reported poor experiences with specific Troon courses. Miller said that Lochgreen was unkempt, with holes not attended to and fairways in poor condition, making it a robbery to charge $35 per round. Barker had a bad experience at two Troon courses, but was surprised and impressed by the excellent customer service he received from Troon's VP of Operations, who went above and beyond to resolve his issues. Watkins had a great experience with the course, but was turned off by a bag search at the driving range without his consent.
Changes to Deal Structure
Barrington Suv reported that he will no longer be a Troon card holder due to changes to the deal structure, specifically the requirement to choose only 5 courses to receive 2-for-1 deals.
