Star Curtains, a well-established manufacturer of curtains, roman blinds, and soft furnishings, first opened its doors in Newmarket in 1989. Over the years, we have expanded our premises twice to accommodate our growing team, which has now reached over 20 dedicated professionals. Our careful growth has allowed us to maintain the highest training standards for our new team members, ensuring that our work continues to meet the exacting standards our clients have come to expect.
Our business has always focused on serving the trade, and we pride ourselves on the quality of our work. We understand that engaging a workroom can be a daunting prospect, and we strive to make the process as smooth as possible for our clients. Our workroom is located in Soham, Cambridgeshire, and we welcome new and existing trade customers to visit us. We are always happy to show you around and let you see us at work, making curtains and roman blinds.
Curtains
At Star Curtains, we are happy to make all designs and sizes of curtains, from tiny ones that fit cottage windows to stage curtains with over a 5m drop. We offer fully hand-finished work made to the highest specifications, as well as machine-made budget price work. We are always available to offer advice on curtain design, and we have encountered most curtain-related problems, so we are happy to share any tips we have picked up along the way.
Roman Blinds
We specialise in child-safe roman blinds and use the fully tested Evans Textile roman track system, with a release mechanism on the reverse of the blind. Our hand-finished roman blinds have a rod pocket made from the lining, and we use chrome or brass eyelets instead of stitching on rings. For blackout blinds, we recommend interlining with sarille or blackout bonded sarille to minimise visible stitch holes. We have experience making very large blinds, with a width of 310cm being the largest so far. We are happy to advise on the most suitable fabrics for larger blinds.
