Our History
The Dial House Hotel gets its name from the vertical declining sundial on the front of the building, designed and installed by J. Alfred Hardcastle, a fellow of the Royal Astronomical Society. The hotel building was once his private home, and over the years, we have evolved to exceed the expectations of our visitors whilst retaining its homely charm. Rooms and public areas are refurbished annually in response to careful checks by staff and feedback from customers.
