Blackbrook House has a rich history, dating back to its days as a maternity home. One reviewer, R. Atiye Bateman, was born at the establishment and revisited in 2010, marveling at its peaceful atmosphere and historic charm.

Harry, a former staff member, shared a negative experience, alleging that they were sacked for whistle-blowing on another staff member who was often sleeping on duty. They claimed that the manager, Julie, was presented with photographic evidence but failed to take action, and instead, the owner, Steven Press, paid off staff to remain silent.
