The Dene Lodge is a highly esteemed and specialised dementia care home that is dedicated to providing a warm, caring, and homely environment for our residents. We fully understand that it can be challenging to leave one's home and settle into a new environment, and we encourage new residents to bring photos and personal belongings to make their rooms familiar. We offer care for both permanent and short-term stays, and we are proud to provide respite care for those who require it.
Our Facilities & Care
The Dene Lodge has 23 rooms, including three spacious double en-suite rooms. Our facilities include two lounges, a visitor's lounge, a conservatory, dining room, two hydrotherapy bathrooms, air purifiers, a hair salon, and a minibus. Our residents can also enjoy our terrace and garden, receive support from our local GP surgery, and take advantage of podiatrist visits. We offer accommodation for married couples and single persons, and our rooms are laid out over three floors accessible by two lifts. We provide traditional and modern rooms, and our lounge, dining room, and conservatory overlook the landscaped gardens and the majestic hills of Exmoor.
We are committed to providing the best care possible for our residents. Our team of staff receives ongoing training in dementia and is skilled in helping people make informed choices about living each day in a way that is tailored around their individual needs, activity, and stimulation. We have the latest equipment, including an Otex (Ozone Disinfections Laundry system), state-of-the-art bathrooms, safety and hygiene-conscious toilets, movement-sensitive lighting and extraction fans, security devices, specialist seating, movement- censored pressure mats, and electric profiling beds.
We provide excellent meals for our residents, with breakfast options ranging from a variety of cereals to fresh fruit, and lunches that are fantastically varied. Our residents can choose from daily menus and enjoy a range of hot or cold suppers. We also provide a selection of drinks for our residents and their guests throughout the day.
Rachel's House
Rachel's House is a bespoke six-bed residential rehabilitation care unit that offers 24-hour care from fully qualified staff who have undergone rehabilitation training. All rooms in Rachel's House have French doors with wheelchair access opening to the lawned areas. We offer a small, intimate, and friendly environment that is attractive for people who need care but can still maintain their independence. Our facilities include six en-suite rooms with wet rooms, a lounge with dining area, a conservatory, and a garden area. Our team of staff is committed to helping our residents achieve person-centred outcomes, empowering them to return to a suitable place to live as independently as possible.
