A warm and friendly welcome, a home from home
At Willow Tree Nursing Home, we take great pride in offering specialist dementia care, general nursing care, and specialist end of life care for our residents in a friendly and homely environment. Our team, led by myself, is committed to providing a high standard of care that promotes physical, mental, spiritual, and emotional wellbeing.
Our nursing home is located on School Street in the heart of Hillmorton, a short distance from Rugby Town centre, and is easily accessible by a regular bus service. We are situated in our own grounds, with each room enjoying a view of either our gardens or wooded areas. The home is just a short walk away from a local shop that can deliver your daily newspaper or magazine. There is also a pub nearby that welcomes our residents with easy access for wheelchairs.
Willow Tree Nursing Home has a warm and friendly atmosphere and accommodates up to 47 residents. We have 44 rooms, and 37 of them are on the ground floor, with many of them having doors opening into the grounds. We encourage our residents to personalise their rooms with their families. Our home has an open reception area with comfortable seating where residents and relatives can spend time together. Our nursing unit has a homely lounge with French doors overlooking the garden, a relaxing water feature, and a grassed lawn. It has a separate dining area that allows residents to sit and enjoy other residents' company while having a pleasant dining experience.
Our dementia unit has open plan lounge dining that opens onto a small courtyard garden via French doors. This enables residents the freedom to move around independently or sit and engage with other residents. There is also a small cosy lounge where residents can spend time in smaller groups if they wish.
Experienced and Committed Team
Our team is experienced in providing care and support to our residents. We understand each individual's needs and work together to devise personalised care plans in consultation with residents and their families. We have a full-time activities person who works hard to plan activities around residents' own hobbies and interests. They organise trips out as far as the safari park or barge trips throughout the year. The residents also enjoy services from the local church and visits from the local church community.
Enabling Residents to Live Active and Fulfilling Lives
We have a structured daily timetable that allows our residents to enjoy leisure activities, such as Zumba, Yoga, Pilates, iPad sessions, social clubs, wine tasting, and much more. Our goal is to promote physical, mental, spiritual, and emotional wellbeing. We create unique and diverse wellness and leisure programs bespoke to residents. We offer personalised leisure plans suited to each resident, ensuring highly accredited and trained leisure and wellness teams at every home.
At Willow Tree Nursing Home, we provide a range of visiting speakers and entertainers to focus on creating memories and promoting social interaction. We ensure equal amounts of individual and group activities, providing a range of opportunities for residents to engage in activities that promote their physical and emotional wellbeing.
Dining at Willow Tree
Our nursing home has its own resident chef who can cater for all dietary needs, including specialised diets. We create interesting and varied choices of dishes to suit all tastes. All produce is locally sourced, and residents have the choice of dining together in our dining room or if they prefer, in the privacy of their own room. Morning coffee and afternoon tea are served daily between meals, an ideal time for family and friends to join in the fun.
Exceptionally High Care Standards
The care provided by Willow Tree has been praised by several residents and their families. The staff, particularly the trained nurses, have received high praise for their professionalism and compassion in attending to the needs of residents. The home's cleanliness and food quality have also been commended. One reviewer, Jackie Fisk, expressed her gratitude for the care provided to her mother during her final days, stating that the staff made a difficult time more bearable.
Lack of Care and Poor Management
However, there have been several negative reviews expressing concerns about the quality of care and management at Willow Tree. One reviewer, Melissa Yhy, reported that the care was inadequate and procedures were not followed, leading to serious implications. Another reviewer, David Mathers, described the home as filthy, with a terrible smell and poor food quality. He also complained about the lack of staff and the bells constantly ringing. Jack Simoms had a similar experience, reporting that his parent's condition deteriorated quickly after moving into the home, and that the staff were often smoking or asleep on the job.
Mixed Reviews
Some reviewers have had mixed experiences, with Mario De Los Santos describing his papa's experience as a mixed bag, with both good and bad days. Brad Sylv praised the home for making his mother feel special and loved, and for helping to plan and prepare her 90th birthday party. Mel Webb had a positive experience, reporting that her mother's care was excellent and the staff were friendly and caring.
